Kofi Annan has decided that the world is not safer without Saddam Hussein.  Certainly, Annan is not wealthier now that Hussein has been deposed. The rest of the world, however, may be of a different opinion.  Of course, it comes down to this

Annan, at a news conference, also criticized a Bush administration decision to withhold $34 million from the U.N. Population Fund, saying the agency was saving women's lives.

Bush would not support funding for worldwide abortion, therefore the world is not a safer place.  Let Kofi Annan point to anything he has done to make the world safer.
