The date sure jives - allegedly there is an al Qaeda attack planned to coincide with the RNC. At least that's the information that Newsday has uncovered. The leak was worded as "two months before the election", which would place the attack on the last day of the GOP convention when the President is slated to speak.

Eery stuff, but good to know. Any detail is better than none, even if the information turns out to not be as precise we now think. The stepped-up level of alert and increased security will make it difficult for any attack to take place, or in the least, could lessen the impact of the attack relative to original planning.

Those who know ask the question "when?", not "if?. There will be another attack - it is up to us to remain vigilant and make it harder for them to kill us.
