Sarah and I just got back from the grand opening of the Bush/Cheney headquarters in Nashville. The event itself, complete with speeches from Congressman Marsha Blackburn, State Senator Jim Bryson, Davidson County GOP Chairman Jon Crisp, and Tennessee Bush/Cheney chairman David Kustoff, was a huge success. At any one time there were 300-400 people there, with what I estimated to be nearly 1,000 coming through in approximately an hour and a half.
Plenty of people driving by on Murphy Road honked a few times and waved. Two cars, apparently full of the more civilized Kerry contingent, honked once and told us we were number one. They were quite adamant about it, which was encouraging.
Any thoughts of Kerry taking Tennessee must be induced by the most concentrated strain of extacy. The fact is, the Republican Party in Nashville is strong, and if it is strong in the cities, it's going to be hopeless for Kerry across the state.
I've also got 500 signs in the back of my truck. Feel free to email me if you'd like to loan a small portion of your real estate to the President for the next two and a half months.|||109311964728833052|||Good News and Bad News
