Zogby shows a dead heat. I go on record, not for the first time, saying the methodology used is rather squirrely. Start with the assumption that a bulk of the states (30 of them) will go for the same party they did in 2000 (giving Bush a starting-point electoral college deficit of 30 votes). This method showed Bush 50 electoral votes down after the GOP convention. I know Zogby is respected, but the parameters as they are set up seem to guarantee a Kerry lead or a dead heat.
