Asserting that Bush would have been against electricity, the car, etc.? Come on, John. Stem cell research needs to be done, and is being done, just not with unlimited federal resources. That, senator, is called a "nuance" - you ought to be familiar with the concept.

For a candidate who wants to limit the free flow of labor, John Kerry sure tries to act like he's for comparative advantage. Innovation is best served by the free flow of capital, labor, and ideas. John Kerry's positions, from tax to trade policy, is the antithesis of freedom and innovation. To say Bush hates science, which is essentially what the Democratic opposition is saying, is ludicrous. The charges levied by Kerry are a backdoor criticism of Bush's Christianity - the implication being that Bush is so religious he would ignore the laws of gravity if he could. The idea that science ought to be devoid of ethics is naive. What we ought to do and what we can do are two very different questions. Kerry's absolute position shows a lack of concern with ethics. There is much gray area here, which someone as "sophisticated" as John Kerry ought to be able to see - oh, that is, unless of course there is partisan advantage to be had.
