Interesting article on National Review Online this morning about the violent tactics taken against Bush/Cheney yard signs and bumper stickers. Admittedly, this deplorable behavior happens to both parties. But, I have personally noticed it being done more to Bush supporters and this article supports the asymmetry of the attacks as well.

Nathan and I have not experienced any damage to our yard sign or our cars. I guess it helps that our entire cul de sac is ringed with Bush/Cheney yard signs. Strength in numbers. The worst reaction I've gotten is from my sister. We met in Virginia to celebrate mom's 60th birthday last weekend (she met my mom in D.C. and we then drove towards one another and met in Abingdon). She cringed and sighed heavily every time she had to get into my car.

I would never think of defacing Kerry material. I just enjoy zooming ahead and pulling in front of cars with Kerry bumper stickers, which are almost always accompanied by anti-Bush stickers. Some of the stickers to whose owners (questionable grammar there) I've particularly enjoyed showing my rear bumper:

"God Forgive America"

"Bush, Cheney, Ashcroft: The Real Axis of Evil"

"Uproot Bush"

"Bush/Cheney = 1984" -- I actually took this one as a positive indicator of next month's results, as 1984 was the year in which Reagan won reelection. However, I'm sure it was not intended in such a way, as it was accompanied by "Bush is a Moron".
