Teresa Heinz Kerry claimed that Laura Bush had never held a real job. I'm sure that moms, teachers, and librarians are pleased to know that they have "fake jobs". Now, Mrs. Heinz Kerry issued a statement this afternoon in an attempt to do some serious backpedalling. Apparently, she forgot all of the important work that Laura Bush had done ... and that it was real.

Yet another evening of damage control is in store for the Kerry campaign. To me, Teresa's statement was insulting and arrogant. Perhaps these important career paths that Laura Bush chose to pursue seem simple to Mrs. Heinz Kerry, and easily neglected when your time is spent among those in Hollywood or on the ski slopes.
