Pennsylvania mailed out absentee ballots to residents currently living out of state, including military voters overseas but also voters temporarily residing in other states. Those ballots included Ralph Nader as one of the choices, but a Pennsylvania court later ruled Nader ineligible for the ballot. New absentee ballots were sent out just a few days ago, and Gov. Rendell - who chaired the Democratic National Committee during part of the Clinton presidency - is refusing to extend the deadline for voters to return them.
Dispicable is a light way of putting it. But who's surprised? Similar attempts were made to disenfranchise military voters in Florida in 2000.
Of course now, it's politically expedient to pretend to be pro-military.
The Pennsylvania situation is rather blatant, and I know the RNC has lawyers on the ground fighting the fight. But we must be vigilant. I've committed to working legal issues in Tennessee on election day, but I have friends going up to Ohio and elsewhere to keep an eye on things. It's unfortunate, but voter theft and manipulation seems to be a concern. We must watch, and we must watch closely.|||109848255415352277|||Surprise
