The Tennessean released a poll today showing Bush with a 12 point lead in the state, with independents breaking for Bush.

Sounds like a good national model to me. Watch closely, ye swing states!

Of course, Bob Tuke has something to say about it

Kerry spokesman Bob Tuke, a Nashville attorney, said Kerry's movement in the poll is good news.

''You look at trends as much as looking at the cold, hard numbers,'' Tuke said. ''The information we're getting from the field is opposite from the poll numbers. We've never seen this level of involvement and enthusiasm.''

Not quite as convincing as Terry McAuliffe.
