Syrian withdrawal from Lebanon appears to have been just the first crack in the authoritarian-arab-nationalistic armor.

This, also, is attributable to our presence in Iraq, which for those who are geographically challenged, is the country next door. The democratization of the Middle East is occurring. It will not be fast, and there will be bumps along the way. But the trend is unmistakable.
